Mining: Authorities in Malaysia demolished Over 1000 Bitcoin Rigs with Steamroller.

-Bitcoin mining machines worth about $1.2 million was demolished in Malaysia for illegally obtaining electricity to mine cryptocurrency
- over 1000 Bitcoin mining machines was destroyed with steamroller in a city in Malaysia named “Miri” according to reports.
- Eight of the victim caught in action obtaining electricity illegally to mine Bitcoin have been arrested so far.
Local media has reported on Friday that One thousand and sixty nine (1,069) Bitcoin mining rigs was destroyed with a steamroller by Malaysian authorities for illegal usage of electricity after 8 victims has been arrested in the operation.
The operation led by the state police and the Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) in Miri, a Malaysia city on the coast of the island of Borneo.

The estimation of total machines destroyed by the authorities was ($1.2millions) and other seizures that has been settled in court was disposed at Miri district police headquarters on Friday.
- ACP Hakemal Hawari (Miri police chief) stated in his statement that:
(A total of six people have been successfully charged under Section 379 of the Penal Code for electricity theft and have been fined up to RM8,000 and jailed for up to eight months)
The Malaysian authorities has further explained the loss caused by this illegal activities by the miners
Over 8.4 million ringgits destroyed due to the stolen electricity from SEB’s supply lines used to mine Bitcoin the chief of police explained:
“The electricity theft for mining bitcoin activities has caused frequent power outages and in 2021, three houses were razed due to illegal electricity supply connections”
